Exciting Times Approaching!

Hello all, it has been a very long time since I have posted a new Blog post, all I can do is chalk it up to life being busy and my lack of motivation to sit down and write a full thought out post. Whatever it may be, I hope that I can brighten your day a little with my words in what otherwise if a society of gloom and doom. We are unfortunately living in a fallen world and most people's first inclination is to complain or give the "bad" news, which is unfortunate.

When I last left you, we had revealed that we are having two boys, which hasn't changed. The boys are growing well and are on schedule to be here in November as planned. My prediction is November 7th or 8th, for no apparent reason at all. Pauline, unfortunately, has been getting more and more uncomfortable as the babies grow and I have been doing my best (failing at times) to make her more comfortable as best I can. Prayer is always appreciated, for a few things specifically, for Pauline's comfort, for the twins' safety, and ultimately for a good birth, we'd love it if Pauline could deliver the both of them without the need of a C-section, but know it would only be by God's grace.

In anticipation of the boys, we have been doing a lot to get ready. Mostly working on the boys' room, we have put the cribs together, put the sheets on the mattress's, spray painted the dresser, put new hardware on the dressers, hung curtains, my mom painted the room, my mother-in-law helped us reupholster the glider we got, and so many other things! Their room looks great and we have gotten to fill it with so many things for the boys thanks to the two baby showers we have had. We definitely appreciate anyone who was able to help us out, we are so very blessed to have such generous people in our lives. A special thank you to all of the men who were able to attend my "Dadchelor" party, we got so many diapers, it should help out a lot to not have to make diaper runs when the twins get here, thanks to my Father-in-law and brother Stephen for helping to make it a great party!

Lucky for us, so far it seems like Benson semi-understands that he is going to be a big brother and we anticipate he will be a big help. He doesn't seem to get jealous of other babies if Pauline or I hold one, which is a good thing. Overall we can just tell that he is excited and should be a great big brother, he is so caring and loving, we just know he is going to be that way with his brothers. Our only fear, which we have been assured will not be an issue, is that we continue to make him feel special and loved even with the new additions to the family.

Benson is such a little firecracker now. He loves to run and play, rarely sitting still for more than a few moments. It can be tiring at times, but it brings me so much joy to know he is growing and learning as he goes. I feel a little bad for him, because I know he is going to be as big of a dork as his dad. Luckily I was able to balance myself growing up to be a decent combination of smart, dorky, athletic (at least in High School), and "cool" (whatever that may have meant in the 90's/00's). My biggest hope is that I can teach him the love of a Savior and rely on Jesus in his daily walk and hopefully be more bold than I was growing up, to step out in faith and see what God can do through him. I pray that for all my children and hope that I can teach them all through my actions as their father.

Here are a few of the dorky pictures of Benson:

As you can see, he loves to play around and is just enjoying being a kid so far.

We continue to anticipate the coming of our two little ones as they are closely approaching being ready for the world, we appreciate all of your prayers and words of encouragement as we become more and more excited.

Be warned that the next time I post it will likely be with a link to a new website to accommodate for the fact that I will no longer be a first time daddy, but instead will be a three time daddy!

Thanks as always for taking the time to read my thoughts and sometimes my out loud prayers, our family is truly blessed to have so many loving and wonderful people in our lives.

May God bless you in keep you, until next time!
-Bryan
